mod rules 1. Any type of car or station wagon allowed 2. All cars must be built before coming to the track 3. All cars must be cleaned inside. No trash, tires, tools, etc. 4. All hoods must be open for inspection 5. All trunks must have 14x14 hole in back to inspect 6. Any size tires allowed 7. 6 4x6 plates for repair patchs on frame 8. All rules will apply to fresh and pr ran cars. NO EXCEPTIONS! 9. Any type of engine, tranny, drive shafts and rearends allowed 10. Cradles, distributor protectors, tranny protectors, allowed 11. Pulley protectors can not touch sway bar before derby starts. 12. Sway bars can be modified and welded to frame, no adding metal 13. Can run 1 chain on each side of engine in your choice of place. Chains can not go past fire wall. 14. Top A arms can be welded solid with no bigger than 3 inch wide 1/4 flat steel. 15. Bottom A arm can have 1 piece of 3 inch wide x 1/4 flat welded from A arm to frame. Plan can only cover half the length of the frame. 16.U may have kickers from cage to kickers 17. Bumper shocks can be homemade. Big Cars: 2x2x17 inch long. Smal lCars 2x2 from bumper to front of strut tower. 18. Any bumpers allowed but must look like a bumper. All homemade must be skinned with a rear bumper skin. 19. Can weld top frame seam fire wall forward. 20. Cars can be pitched with only one weld pass where frame was cut, no adding metal. 21. All cars can add 1 extra body bolt to each side of car. 22. BOP cars can weld the big hold on inside of front horn up. 23. All body bolts can be change 1 inch max bolts washers, no bigger than 3 inch wide 24. Body can be bolted solded to frame 25. 22 inch hump plate allowed must conform shape of hump. 26. No Leaf springs conversion allowed. Cars with leaf springs have to have factory leaf springs. Shackle brackets no bigger than factor style shackle brackets. 27. No more than 9 leafs per side and they must stagger no more than clamps per side. Leaf to Leaf, Coil to Coil. 28. 98 and Newer can have after market control arm brackets 29. All cars can have control arms modified 30. Tie rods can be modified 31. kickers from front of cage to behind a-arms welded can be no larger then 3x3 tubing back kickers can be welded to the front of the humps 32. If frame is broken or rusted into, you can weld back together. No adding metal. 33. 03 and newer can weld in steel cradle and A arms. Must follow rest of rules. No adding metal when welding cradle in. 34. Doors, tailgates, trunks, can be welded solid all way around with flat steel, only no bigger than 3 inch wide 1/4 thick. No over lapping or doubling the metal. 35. Window bars, 2 bars max in front window. 1 bar max in rear window. Bars no bigger than 3 inch wide and 1 inch think. 36. Front window bar can not touch Distributor Protectors. 37. Back window bar can not go past the speaker deck trunk lid seam. Bar can not go 6 inches past where top of roof and back window meet. 38. CAGE: 4 point cage with 4 down bars to floor, center bar connecting dash bar and rear seat bar, no down bars from center bar can have 1 chain or #9 wire from center bar to tranny. Cage can have 1 gusset per joint on 4 point cage. Can have 1 kicker bar touching distributor protectors but can not be connected. Center bar and kicker bar can not be same bar. Bars can be inside doors or drivers compartment. If pre ran cars have bar inside doors and door metal is ripped exposing bars, all sharp corners must be grinded off or cut off and sheet metal patched up with new sheet metal only. 39. Rollover bar can be bolted or welded to roof in 4 places. If roll bar touches floor it will count as two of the down bars. 40. Cage can be welded to frame and dash bar can not touch tranny tunnel. Back seat bar can not be any farther than 10 inches from the back of the front seat. 41. Gas tank protector no wider than 26 inches and can touch rear package tray and only connect to rear cage bar only. DO NOT WELD OR BOLT GAS TANK PROTECTORS TO PACKAGE TRAY. 42. Trunks, roofs, tailgates can be beat down but quarters must remain 75 % up in factory style. 43. Creasing, cutting and pre-bending allowed. 44. Height 22 inches high max and 14 inches max low from bottom of bumper. 45. Radiator support can have 1 piece of 1 inch x 1 inch angle welded to top of core support and no wider than the inside tanks of radiator. This piece must be visible. 46. Front body bolts can run through frame and a spacer added. No bigger than 3 inches wide and 8 inches long. 47. Front body mounts can be changed and modified, but can not go past the curve of frame. 48. ALL DRIVERS WILL BE INSPECTED AND TREATED THE SAME! 49. ALL RULES WILL BE THE SAME ON PAPER AS OF THE DAY OF THE SHOW. NOTHING WILL CHANGE. 50. IF RULES DONT SAY IT, THEN DONT DO IT! | STOCK RULES RULES and REGULATIONS 1. Any stock hardtop auto or station wagon,imperial is allowed. no trucks, Jeeps, limos, 4-wheel drives, or ambulances will be allowed. 2. Safety belts, DOT approved helmet, goggles, or face shield mandatory. Approved safety glasses will be allowed. An approved neck support is strongly encouraged, but not mandatory. 3. All glass, trim, and upholstery must be removed before entering Fairgrounds. Autos must be swept clean of all debris and parts. No mirrors allowed. 4. Gas tank: original gas tank must be removed. A marine type gas tank or approved fuel cell is to be mounted in the back seat area secured with metal strapping. All lines to have leak proof connections (such as fittings and hose clamps). Taped connections not allowed. Rubber line allowed if new or good quality. Electric fuel pumps allowed, but must have shut off switch on dash. Five gallons of pump gas maximum allowed. All carburetors must have breather covers. Gas tank protector must be suspended 4” above floorboard, attached to roll cage only. No side or rear supports and must stop 8” from rear firewall. 3 ½“ dia. maximum only. No exceptions. 5. Any motor or transmission may be interchanged if mounts remain in stock locations and may be welded in place. Modified motor mount must not extend behind the motor mount tower. A partial cradle that bolts to the front of lower block and bolts only to original mounts is acceptable. No full cradles allowed. 03 and newer Fords MUST have ORIGINAL aluminum cradle and front suspension. 6. Radiator must remain in stock position and mounts. No part of any cooling system allowed behind firewall. No part of transmission cooler in driver’s compartment or opening through firewall. 7. Suspension must remain free with minimum of 4” free travel. Spring jacks, blocked shocks, air shocks, wedging not allowed. Springs must remain stock for make and year of car. May kick front springs. 8. Brakes must remain operable at the beginning of each event. 9. Batteries must be relocated to front passenger area of car. Batteries must be secured with all-thread or bolts, no nylon straps allowed. Must be covered with splash guard. 10. No distributor protectors allowed. No uncovered holes behind distributor in firewall. 11. Tires must have D.O.T. stamped and numbers. Tires may be filled. 12. Hood and deck lids must remain operable for initial inspection. Hood must have 12”x20” holes cut on each side of carburetor. Hood and trunk allowed a maximum of 6 hold downs using #9 wire ONLY. No bolts, chains or cables. You may wire separately from the core support to bumper in 3 locations. Must have front half of hood at all times. 13. Exhaust pipes penetrating hood must point upward not towards front of bumper or driver. 14. Doors may be fastened shut with 3/8” chain or #9 wire or welded. 3” maximum wide door strapping material 4” on and 4” off. Driver’s door may be welded. Driver’s door may be plated with steel plate that may not extend more than 6” beyond door seams. Plate must have a minimum of eight 1/2” dia. Mounting bolts. Door straps CANNOT be welded to frame. 15. Hood and trunk deck body seams may not be bolted, screwed, or welded. #9 wire only. Cutting of fenders for tire clearance is allowed. Inner and outer body panels cannot be welded, bolted, or zip screwed together. The edge of holes in hood will be the only exception. 16. Front two and back four body mounts only can be replaced. 4” LIMIT ON FRONT ONLY SPACERS! Rubber body mounts may be replaced with washers, any bolts that are replaced must be same diameter as bolt removed. Washers cannot be welded to frame! Factory holes in bottom frame must remain open. (Must be same as factory body bolt location). ONLY original stock amount of body mounts will be allowed!!! Loops of wire, straps, gussets, or anything else that fastens the body to the frame, WILL NOT BE ALLOWED. Washers must be maximum of 3”x3”x1/4” top and bottom. Must be 1 finger thickness between frame and body! No bodies flush with frame will be allowed. 17. Body and bumper must remain in stock position. Bumper shocks may be welded all the way around tubes, or chained. No straps or gussets. Non-shocked bumper plate (4”x4” plate of 1-4” weld) may be welded to the front of frame. No gussets. 18. Roll cages or bars are allowed. Cages or bars must remain in passenger area. No part of cage or halo bar outside of car! Halo bar cannot be bolted, welded, or wired to roof. Cages or bars to be welded or bolted to top of frame at 4 points only. No bars allowed behind the recessed floor pan area behind front seat. No bars allowed further forward than driver’s door seam dash area. Rear uprights must remain at 90 degree angle to frame (straight up and down). 3 ½” diameter maximum on all bars! 19. Windshield area must have #9 wire, chain, or metal strapping from roof to cowling behind hood to prevent hood from entering driver’s compartment. 20. Rear window area may have #9 wire from center of roof to speaker deck only! Cannot be attached to trunk deck or floor. Speaker deck must remain in original position, not flattened or bowed. 21. Frame patching to rusted or damaged areas on previously run cars only, will be permitted under strict guidelines. Patches can be 1” bigger than damage and no larger than 4”x4” same thickness as frame. Only welded on two sides (top and bottom). 1” hole in center of patch and through frame is mandatory for inspection inside the frame, in order to view previous damage or rust. NO EXCEPTIONS 22. No part of frame can be painted or undercoated. 23. Driver’s door only MUST be painted white! Car must have 18” tall numbers on each side and roof of car and be legible. Roof signs must be bolted to roof only. Cannot be fastened to halo bar or any other support. No obscenities or rude gestures allowed on car. If number is not able to be seen on roof, car will not be scored. 24. These rules are intended to be stock frame and bumper. If it does not appear to be stock or if altered, it will not be allowed. 25. Only drivers participating on track, to remain on track, at conclusion of that heat, consi, feature, or inspections. 26. All decisions by officials shall be final! NO APPEALS! 27. Cutting torches or welders in pit area must have fire suppression of some type, examples – fire extinguisher, pressure water, bucket of sand. 28. Welding only in these places will be allowed. Door seams (4 on 4 off), bumper shock tubes, motor and trans mounts, roll cage to top of frame (4 upright points only), ring and pinion gears, rims, and damaged frame patching restricted and described as in rule # 20! Any other welds will result in disqualification! 29. Trunks must be able to be inspected through rear firewall, tail light openings, or speaker deck. If unable to see this area, a 12" inspection hole will be required in deck lid. Must be able to see between trunk deck and floor pan. Must be an air space between deck and floor pan. No wedging! May be semi tucked, but not flattened against floor pan. No bolting or wiring roof or trunk deck to floor pan. 30. No cutting and pitching of frames! 31. May change rear end housing. Stock suspension must remain in place. No rear end larger than ½ ton truck, 6 lug maximum. 32. If it is not clearly addressed in these rules it is not allowed. MINI CAR RULES General1. RWD CARS NO MORE THAN 106“ WHEELBASE FWD CARS NO MORE THAN 109“ WHEELBASE NO FULL FRAME CARS. If car is painted black a 12" x 12" roof sign is mandatory. ******** You must pass inspection within 3 times through inspection or you will not be allowed to run ******** 2. Helmet, seat belt, and eye protection must be worn at all times. Any controversies or protests must be brought up during the drivers meeting. 3. Any questions call first If it doesn't say you can, don't do it. Cars must be stock unless modification is stated in the rules. No painting of the frames. a 12" x 12" roof sign is recommended. Judges decision's are final. All cars are subject to re- inspection at any time before, during, or after the event No refunds on illegal cars. WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO RE-INSPECT, CUT, OR DRILL ANY CAR AT ANY TIME. IF YOU ARE CAUGHT BREAKING THE RULES SET HERE FORTH YOU WILL FORFIET ANY AND ALL WINNINGS AND OR PRIZES YOU ARE DUE. 4. All glass, plastic, and interior must be removed before arriving to the event. Cars must be stock unless modifications stated in rules. We have the right to RE-INSPECT, DRILL, OR CUT any car at any time. If you stretch a rule you will loose that rule. 5. Original gas tank MAY be removed and replaced with a boat-type tank or fuel cell if fuel tank is in front of rear axle you may leave it in stock location. Moved inside of car behind drivers seat but no further back than rear axle. Batteries must be moved to passenger side floor board and securely fastened. Body I Cage 1. We must be able to see in trunk for inspection 2. You may weld, wire, or bolt doors, trunk lids, and l or tailgates. If you wire you may use 8 double strands of #9 wire all may go around bumper or frame You may weld, wire, or bolt only. Strapping used for welding may not be stair stepped no excessive overlapping permitted. strapping may be ¼” x 3" maximum. Deck lids may have two 1" piece of all thread from the floor pan to the deck lid they may Attach to frame by welding the all thread to the frame no more than ½ ( HALF ) way down the side of frame and must be straight up and down, On wagons these may go from the floor pan to rear roof pillars not the roof. You may add 3 bolts per wheel well these bolts can be in wheel well only. 3. No body seam welding will be permitted. Doors can be welded on outside of body only. On pre-ran cars the doors may be repaired back to stock. Rust repair is limited to floor boards and roofs only. 4. You may have a window bar or wire in windshield and rear window if using metal it can be no thicker than 3/8" and no wider than 3" You may use 2 x 2 pipe. not solid. These may not touch the rollover bar. They can be welded to roof no more than 6" from the window area. And welded to deck lid no more than 6"at the rear window area Metal used for this may not exceed 6" in length on roof or deck lid. 5. You may use a floating gas tank protector that comes off the back bar but it can not be wider than 24" The gas tank protector or holder may go all the way back to the sheet metal. If the protector is wider than 24" it will not be allowed to run. Gas tank protector I holder can be welded or bolted to rear sheet metal or package tray with 2 - ½ " X 4“ bolts or 2 -- 3" welds. 6. You may have 6 bolts on the hood to keep it secure, bolts may be 1" in dia. The front 2 may go all the way through core support You may use a 2 x 2 spacer through the core support this may be welded to top of frame and top and bottom of core support only. You may also use a 4" x 4" x ¼ plate to weld to top side of frame on the front two body mounts these can weld no farther than 2" on the frame behind the body mount bolts. 1" bolts max. 7. Hoods must be open for inspection. (12" x 12" hole over carburetor) 8. Cars may not be smashed flat If cars are tucked the rear quarter panels on both sides of cars must be 6" higher than the top of the bumper. 9. Body mounts must remain in place or a 1" gap between body and frame with a stack of washers or spacer of some kind may be used nothing bigger than 3" x 3" permitted NO EXCEPTIONS cars without a space will not be permitted to run. 10. You can add a piece of angle (4" x 4" x ¼"max.) to top of the core support but can be No longer than 32" no other metal permitted on core support. No other metal permitted to be welded to core support. 11. You may have a cage surrounding the drivers compartment with a roll over bar. Bars 6" diam. Max. must be sheet metal to sheet metal only. The dash bar must be 5" from firewall This will be strictly enforced. The bar behind the seat can sit no further back than where the kick panel meets the bench seat and must be at least 6" off the floor. . No cage components can be farther back than where the kick panel meets the bench seat. Roll over bar and rear down legs are cage components No center bar in cages permitted. You may use 2 down legs to the frame from the rear bar down to frame these must run straight down no angling of the down legs permitted. You can have kickers from the front dash bar to the top side of frame behind A arms or the back of strut towers. 2X2 square tubing Or 2” pipe only no other material may be used they must be within 2" of A arm. Frame I Bumpers 1. Trailer hitches and braces must be removed. No plating, pinning, heat treating, stuffing the frame of any kind. Do not paint frame. NO WELDS ON FRAME MAY EXCEED A SINGLE PASS NO WEAVE PASSES OR BUILDING THE WELD UP WILL BE PERMITIED. 2. NO FRAME CREASING or hammering PERMITTED. You can notch or crease rear frame this is to help rear of car roll not to strengthen the frame. Frame welding is limited to front and rear bumper areas Frame seams from firewall forward may be welded top side only. Front frame may be shortened to front side of core support. Core support must remain in stock location. 3. Any year bumper permitted. All bumper seams may be welded, Front bumpers may be loaded bumper must be a factory car bumper No homemade bumpers DEC bumpers are permitted. No spacers of any type permitted between the front bumper and the frame. The bumper on the rear of the car must be factory no adding of metal to bumper on rear of car will be permitted. Openings in bumper may be closed out. You may use ¼" X 2” X 6” plate to weld from bumper to frame 2 sides and only. Bumper shocks must appear stock Must be round pipe or factory shock no square tubing will be permitted for shocks and may not be further than 1 0" inside of frame and be no bigger than 2 inches in dia. You may weld shock to frame 4. If a frame section needs to be replaced or repaired (rust) you must call first. On pre-ran cars if the frame is shortened in the rear and bumper replaced the bumper shocks may not be located closer than 6" from hump plate. 5. You may put (4) - ¼" x 3" x 3" plates on pre-ran cars that have frame damage there must be a 1" gap between fix it plates If a seam has came apart you may re-weld up to 6" of frame but that will count as 1 of the 4 plates only two of these plate may be in front of A-Arms or strut towers. 6. Angles for cross member can't be longer than 5" and must be within 12" from factory location. 7. Body bolts and washers may be changed (1" dia. Bolt max, 3" washer max.) Must start and stop in stock location 8. Cars must set relatively level. 9. For coil sprung cars you may use a hump plate they may be ¼" X 6" X 16" centered in the hump they will be measured from the top center of the hump and must start no lower than the center of the frame. Hump plate must be at least 2" from rear end housing. On leaf spring cars you may use a ¼" X 6" X 10" hump plate to be measured the same way. These hump plates may contour the frame or run straight across hump. Hump plate must remain flat plate no bending of this over the top or bottom of frame. 10. You may clip pre-ran cars with a single butt weld with no metal added must use same make and model of frame All factory holes in frame must remain open no welding these holes shut permitted. Engine / Transmission 1. Engines may be chained in with 4 chains standard 3/8" chain max. these chains may be no longer than 16" and no more than 2 chain links may be welded to the engine cradle behind Motor Mount2 chains permitted to frame In front of A-Arms (1 per side) 2 Chain links welded to frame Welds for this may not exceed a continuous 3” weld. . Chains must attach to engine and chain links can not be separated.. 2. 4 & 6 cyl. Engines only. Distributor protectors are allowed, Nothing that attaches to engine can be wider than the stacks I.E dist. Protector, engine cradles ect or be used to strengthen cars. 3. Oil pan and transmission pan may be plated the plate used may be only 1” wider than the pan they are welded to they may not connect in any way. Suspension 1. You may modify tie rods. Valve stem protectors are permitted. A-arms must remain in stock configuration. Any tire permitted. Rear trailing arms may be Home made No bigger than 2 x 2 square tubing or pipe. 2.Upper A arms may be welded down with a ¼" X 2" X 2" piece of steel on front and back side of upper a arm and you may plug weld the center of the A Arm. lower A-Arms may not be welded. Cars do not have to bounce. Solid suspension is allowed. Coil springs in rear may be welded wired or chained to rear end. 3. Rear end protectors may be used but may not be used to strengthen car in any way. leaf spring cars may replace broken springs with factory ¼ " leaf springs only. No more than 5 springs allowed and must have a 2" stagger and mounted in factory location You can not change coil spring to leaf spring set ups. 4. Idler arm must be bolted factory to frame no bolts will be permitted all the way through the frame. Sway bar may be welded to bottom of frame in the factory location you may use a 1 ½ " X 4” bracket or a 2" square tubing or pipe to weld to sway bar to attach to frame. |
